In high school, I dove into creating short films that feel relatable and real. I wanted to capture the experiences and emotions that resonate with me and those around me—whether it’s about friendships, facing challenges, or highlighting the everyday moments that shape our lives. By choosing themes I connect with, I aimed to make my work speak to our realities. 

I’ve also found ways to blend my filmmaking with my school subjects. For instance, in my AP Environmental Science class, I made a fun short video about animal interactions using Chucky the doll and humans instead of real animals. This creative twist helped engage my classmates and allowed me to apply my filmmaking skills to academic projects, making school more enjoyable.

This past summer has been a game-changer for me. I interned on the set of a Vietnamese movie, Sao Kim Ban Tim Sao Hoa, which aired in July 2024. Working alongside experienced professionals, including the film’s director, was an incredible learning experience. I also interned at a daily broadcast show called Cafe Sang, where I was on set bright and early at 6 AM, soaking up everything I could about the industry. Plus, I joined a development center for young filmmakers, TPD, where I took a documentary filmmaking course and created my own documentary related to the volunteer charity project I founded, CFH.

Right now, I’m in the process of filming my first professional short film called “Finding.” All these experiences have not only strengthened my filmmaking skills but also reinforced my passion for pursuing this as a career.

The Hunt Remake

Creation From Hearts

October 2024, Creation From Hearts, documentary, 13:00 minutes. Position: Writer/ director. A documentary on a student-led volunteer service at the National Children’s Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam.
